THE NEW ARTIST WITH SOME EXCLUSIONS - excerpt

I later learned that this guy I knew put ( my quote among other things) in one of his h'mmmm short stories for a writing class at the new school ( the closest ill ever get to attending the joint lol) So' It got me thinking about privilege and the new Bohemia...

" The times of bohemians actually being hungry are over . Now they have under grad degrees in art or philosophy and dress up like dead rock stars. Often times they move to Brooklyn with their privilege and money and carry on like they cant afford their 50$ tab at some dreadful hipster bar. If this is not enough they enroll in the new school and re encounter every usable piece of wit they indeed did not muster on their own and turn it in as school work.

Indeed suffrage is one of the greatest gifts .It transcends art and becomes a form of humility that is beyond demise. ( which can be threatening) Humility is not so much in vogue. So if you have suffered you maybe resented (socially and particularly in the arts). This is why this generation of artists strive for hunger while their bellies are full. They never become a great or memorable artists just high in their own moment. How sad. Suffrage trumps synthetic plight. Look at Jt Leroy for instance." "PS.
